Being a non-profit or for-profit organization, sponsorship is all about relationship building with organizations. After creating a list of potential sponsors, you have to make the best strategy to attract them.
Assume that it is an online date. You need to stalk them all night before the first meeting, you have to be certain about what you want, introduce yourself with a fascinating presentation and you should suggest a plan with a minimum risk to not to lose them.
1. Tell your story
You need to describe your organization, what you do, your demographic audience etc.
2. Be specific
Make sure that you explain the estimated funding amount you needed.
3. No lie, minimum risk
They are already taking a risk by sponsoring your organization. Be realistic and tell them what you want to hear!
4. Stalk your sponsors
Find the right person to be in touch with this process. I mean, sad but true, believe me, you won’t get what you want if you have 5-hours-talk with the quality manager of the company.
5. Carry on!
“Sometimes carrying on, just carrying on, is the superhuman achievement, ” says Albert Camus.
Ask yourself two questions; will it work and does it worth? If it works and worths, what are you waiting for? Go on with your plan. Don’t give up if it doesn’t work with them. Maybe they are the one who’s wrong? Repeat all this process with other companies. You are going to find the right one anyway.
PS: You can manage all the communication process with your sponsors via your Raklet account;)
